Arenas open January 31!
Hi all! We have finally got word from OMHA and final details from Norfolk County today. I’ll try to be as concise as possible:
-
Arenas open Jan 31 with 50% spectator capacity and dressing room capacity. No limits for on ice. Mask and enhanced vaccine passports mandatory for all entering the arena ages 12 and over.
-
For U11 and up, teams have been placed in an A, B or C (if necessary) category based on first half results. Games are being generated as we speak and will start immediately. 8 games will need to be played from now until March 11th. If your team makes the top 4, playoffs will occur immediately following March break. There will be no games scheduled March break, however practices are allowed. Questions about the schedule can be directed to Pat.
-
Tournaments are allowed to resume, however I would contact the convenor asap about any tourney you are booked for as they may not be able to reschedule all.
-
U9 will begin full ice games as planned.
-
Affiliate player rosters are now locked.
-
Electronic rosters will be locked Feb 10th. Please do any certifications required as soon as you possibly can.
-
U9, U8 and U7 games will generate once the older divisions are set. Please subscribe to the website.
-
Teams will need to start finding their own time keepers. If you have someone interested, please contact Jess Taylor for any training necessary.
-
Payments for refs will continue as the first half. We will get money for this out to you before your first game.
-
Our NHLPA Bauer First Shift welcome event is scheduled for February 22nd. This is a program for kids 6-10 who have never played hockey before. There may be 1-2 spots left if you know anyone who may be interested. The website is firstshift.ca for more info.
