Reminder of Vaccine Mandate from PDMHA President
Submitted By marykay vary on Mon 09 13, 21
PDMHA President reminds all players and volunteers of the OMHA vaccine mandate.
Just a reminder that all players who are eligible (12 years and up) , coaches, trainers, executive members and volunteers within PDMHA must be FULLY vaccinated by October 31st 2021 as mandated by the OMHA. To be considered fully vaccinated, both doses of the vaccine must have been received (note that there is a waiting period between doses) AS WELL AS a two week waiting period following the second dose. Those who are not fully vaccinated will not be permitted on the ice as of November 1st until they are vaccinated and have done the two week waiting period after the second dose and have provided proper documentation. Should any participant wish to not be vaccinated, they must apply to the OMHA to be granted accommodation (please note that accommodation can only be granted by OMHA and not through PDMHA) . Anyone who is granted accommodation by the OMHA must undergo regular COVID-19 testing and must provide proof of a negative test taken no more than 72 hours prior to each Sanctioned Activity (game, practice etc). As we are governed by OMHA and this is their mandate, we cannot and will not make any exceptions to these rules.
Information on what is required and where to send that information will be coming shortly.
We at PDMHA understand and appreciate that this is a sensitive and frustrating issue for many, and we ask that everyone appreciate the position that we are in by having to adhere to to the requirements for this season. Please keep in mind that all of our coaches and executive members are volunteers and any harassment or verbal abuse will not be tolerated. We ask for your patience and understanding as we navigate this new season of hockey so we can all have a good 2021/2022 season.
